Sand Dunes information!

         W.A.L.T: Write a story about the Sand Dunes.

Wind is important for the Sand Dunes because animals live in there like skink which is a type of lizard, Katipo which is a spider. The wind makes bumps in the Sand Dunes slows the sand down. Every now and then a storm comes which makes the tide come up all the way to the Sand Dunes which makes them collapse and then they have to grow back again. Its not good for the animals/insects living in there when the storms come.

It has been terrible for me because I'm in the big pool and my teacher doesnt let us have a break. My favourite stroke that my instructor made us do was breaststroke. We also got to put on flippers for one of the days and we had a contest who could stay under water the longest. But for the past 2 days we have been having a lot of fun because on Wednesday we got to wear life jackets in the big pool and they turned the big pool to 2.0metres. Yesterday we had two tasks one of them you got to go on a boat in the water and see what it would be like if the boat caught on fire so we had to fall of backwards. For the second task we had to get in to buddies and we had a bag with a rope in it and one of your buddies would swim out to the lane rope and they would pretend that they were drowning so your                                             other buddy had to throw the rope out and pull you back in.

Room two and three joined together to play Interland which is a game where you can choose 4 different islands they each have different meanings. To keep safe online the game that I played was kind kingdom where you had to stop the bullies online and make the people who got bullied feel better. It was quite hard but then I got the hang of it.

Today Stella the duffy role model came in to my school for a duffy assembly and talked about forest animals and how some animals are getting extinct. She also talked about native animals. My favourite animal was the possum even though I think they are gross I found that one really cool because of how fluffy it was. Reward reflection

we are learning that making good choices.

Here is us in our hut.

Today room three had a reward for putting all our marbles in the jar. For our reward we made lots of different huts so we brought our blankets and you could either bring your technology or bring a teddy. So Hunter brought his massive panda bear and a blanket. Katelyn brought her blanket and Brad brought his ipad. I brought my blanket and phone all four of us were in the hut together playing on each others devices. We used six tables and put lots of heavy things on the hut so that the blankets wouldn´t fall down. We were in the hut for about 1 hour and a half it was a lot of fun!

I found my logo challenging to make because i didnt have a good idea but then I realised that I could do a mountain with everybody growing together which is the trees!

The devil tree

Yesterday room 3&2 went to the museum when it came round to lunch time we were allowed to play in a massive tree so everyone in room 3&2 played in the massive tree. But I like to call it the devil tree because Shepherd he ran into the tree and got lots of scrapes and he got a bleeding nose! Jaimie fell out of a tree and I got stuck in the tree. There were a few different people who had something happen to them. But that’s why I think that’s a devil tree!

Hanmer Springs

WALT: hook my audience in with a catchy start.

On a miserable dreadful frosty Sunday morning in the middle of the holidays I had to get up so early, it felt like I had never been to sleep before I was so tired.

My friend (Ruby) and my friends parents were about to pick me up to go to Hanmer Springs. The car felt like it kept on going on and on, but it had only been 20 minutes that I had been in the car. Once we arrived at the steaming hot pools we checked in and got a wristband for the hydro slide.

Ruby and I first ran to the hydroslide with excitement she was a little afraid at first but I somehow talked her into doing it with me. It was such a long line just to go down one little hydroslide and it wasn't fun standing and waiting in the drizzling frozen day and it didn’t help when we went in the cold water on the hydroslide.

After we went to the hot pools we went out for lunch I got a big burger and we went back home but we wanted a sleepover so we asked and we were allowed to have one. So I went home and got my stuff and went to her house. When we got to Ruby’s house we watched some netball on there T.V. Then it was late so we went to bed.

In the morning we were so tired that we slept in to 9:50 and we went to QEII pool just for a swim. Then we came home and had some lunch we had fried chicken and fries. It was amazing we then played some netball outside. After that I was allowed to stay for dinner so  I stayed for dinner and then we went to the dairy and got some lollies. We decided to watch a movie with our full of sugar lollies. My dad then came as soon as our movie finished then I went home and hung out with my family.

What I got from duffy

Two weeks ago Poto Williams came in to our school to talk about Duffy and she let us ask a few questions about her. The Government was really nice to us because they're the ones that gave us these books. Here is a picture of me with my Duffy book Ella Diaries.

Dancing like the stars reflection

 On Tuesday most of the year 6s did dancing like the stars there were lots of different schools who did different dances we did a salsa dance and our teacher was called Dona. She's the one who taught us the amazing dance everyone had a lot of different emotions some of us were crying, happy, nervous, excited, scared and frightened we performed in front of thousands of people at the Isaac Theatre Royal.
