Camp Recount
On the 26th of February room one went to Hanmer Springs for camp!
On the first day, when we got there we were supposed to walk up dog stream walk but we accidentally drove up it, so Miss Holland let us do a way smaller walk. After we had finished the walk we had to walk all the way back to camp while the parents took the cars. When we got back we settled in to our cabins and got in to our togs. Then we headed back played castle and spotlight and went to bed.
At the pools we all had so much joy doing manus, bombs, shoulder rides,diving, tag in the lazy river and going on the hydroslides. I went on the hydroslides with Kata, Jennah, Tallulah, Hunter and Gabrielle. The hydroslides were so enjoyable. We had lots of laughs at the pools.
The next morning we did orienteering in our group. You had to write down these marks hidden somewhere in the forest. Then we came back and did our first activities some groups went mountain biking and my group did tree climbing it was really scary trying to get to the top, but im happy that I gave all three of the trees a try and got to where I wanted to.
Later on when we had finished our first activity we played castle then played spotlight. After spotlight we all laid down on the grass looking up at the sky watching the satellites pass by there were about sixty of them it was so cool.
On the third day/last day, we all did our second activity. My group went mountain biking while the other groups did tree climbing. Mountain biking was very exciting before we left we did a quick check on our bikes to make sure we would be safe. Then we went around the field to make sure we knew how to ride a bike and also to make sure that we knew how to change gears. After that we biked to the forest and finally went mountain biking.
When we got into the forest we went for a quick bike along the track to get used to it. Next we started to go up hills and down hills. We made our way through the forest to a pump track, me, Max, Reggie and Makkus went around the pump track about 20 times I had so much fun doing it. Later we went to snakes and ladders which is a game with lots of turns and hills. I had a blast doing that so I went twice. Then we headed back.
As soon as we got back to camp we had lunch and packed the cars went to the bathroom and left. While we were in the car we listened to music and Jackson wouldn't stop talking about McDonalds. Then we got back to school and went home.
Thank you for letting us go on camp we all had so much energy going/playing in the pools and playing games and doing all of the activities and especially the food.
